Kaltrina Kodraliu

Licensed by the Kosovo Bar Association, I work as a lawyer at Sejdiu & Qerkini, specializing primarily in criminal law. My responsibilities include representing clients during investigations at police stations, the prosecution, and in court proceedings. I draft legal documents, motions, and appeals on behalf of clients, ensuring their legal rights are upheld at every stage of the process. In addition to criminal cases, my daily duties also involve conducting thorough legal research and providing legal advice to clients across various fields, beyond criminal law.

• Joint the IRMCT as MIP Legal Fellow in May, where I had the chance to work for the Immediate Office of the Office of the Prosecutor ('OTP')
• I was awarded a fellowship by the Mechanism Information Programme for Affected Communities to spend one month working at the Mechanism's Hague branch
• During this month I supported one of the teams within the Immediate Office of the Prosecutor responsible for assisting national war crimes prosecutors and investigators in the former Yugoslavia
• I had the opportunity to assist in factual research and analysis for an investigative case file concerning responsibility for core international crimes committed in several municipalities within the former Yugoslavia

• I have served as a legal adviser at the Basic Court in Pristina and later at the Kosovo Court of Appeals
• I have worked with approximately 30 judges on a project funded by USAID aimed at enhancing the performance of the judicial system in Kosovo
• My daily tasks included drafting legal documents, providing legal advice, attending court sessions, assisting in trials, conducting legal research, and so on

• As a legal intern, I was part of the General Department of the Penal Division and the Department of Serious Crimes at the Court of Appeals for a period of one year
• My daily duties included, but were not limited to, document drafting, legal research, attending court sessions, assisting in the drafting of judicial decisions, and all other relevant tasks within the judge's office

• During my studies, my first internship experience was at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kosovo, specifically within the Kosovo Correctional Service, more precisely in the Kosovo Prisons Directorate
